Hello — and what this blog will actually be
A short note on what kind of writing to expect here — and what it won't be.
Written by Christopher D. Basso, CPA
This is the first post on the new site. I want to say what it’s for, because most CPA blogs are either thinly disguised lead magnets or so cautious they don’t say anything at all.
What this will be
Short, practical writing aimed at small-business owners. Topics I plan to come back to:
- Tax reality checks. What an IRS notice actually means before you panic. When an S-corp election makes sense and when it’s just paperwork. The deductions people overthink and the ones they miss.
- Reading your own books. How to glance at your P&L and learn something useful in thirty seconds.
- Practice notes. Working examples (anonymized) from real engagements — the kind of thing a peer CPA might find useful too.
What this won’t be
- Generic SEO-bait articles about “10 tax tips for small business owners.”
- Specific advice for your situation. Every post here is general. Talk to your own advisor — or reach out if that’s a conversation you want to start.
More to come.
